Many of us become writers for any number of reasons. An encouraging teacher who may have scrawled a compliment in red ink on an essay back in third grade…An itch way down deep in our memory banks that only writing can scratch…A talent for spinning yarns that our gullible siblings actually used to believe! Whatever gets us started is, of course, not nearly as important as what it is that keeps us going.

My particular journey has had its share of hills and valleys, same as most writers. The only differences are the specifics that make them my own. But the thing that keeps me writing? Frankly, I don’t want to look too closely at that for fear that I’ll mess it up, whatever it is. Suffice it to say that I write, I enjoy writing, I hope to keep at it for a long, long time. And that’s all I have to say about that.
